Are you holding yourself back?

Do you feel you are holding yourself back from a really fulfilling career or business? As you may know I am full of ideas. If I am not creating products and services for my business I am getting paid to give ideas to other businesses. I feel NOW (after a couple of years of trial and error)  I am at the point where I have a very clear vision for Modern Day Hippie. I have ideas that will help the business evolve and flourish. Then there are times doubt tries to creep in and this can be caused by outside influences (the people I am around) or internally (what vibration I am sitting in). This self doubt wants to keep me playing small which is...

What turning 30 and getting married have in common........

Turning 30 is much like a wedding. Yesterday I turned 30 and I felt different.  How is turning 30 like a wedding? I had an expectation on how I thought things would turn out. Since a young age I had known that I would eventually get married and the flowers, dress , table settings were all gorgeous. Everyone was having a magical time and the day just went smoothly. My wedding day was lovely but my flowers didn't turn out how I expected  (the orchids got caught up in quarantine). My expensive custom dress had a pull in it.The limo broke down so we were late to get photos and this had a ripple effect on the...

Work life balance

Work life balance...Do you think it exists? I like to view work/life balance as work/ life integration as you won't have the exact amount of time to spend on all areas of your life. But you can feel balanced when all areas are getting the required attention needed for you to feel whole and balanced. For some this could mean more time devoted to healthy eating and less time to socialising. The key to this work/life integration I have found is to FOCUS and have CLARITY on how what you want to achieve and how you want to feel then PRIORITISE it. I have definitely had my fair share of trying to do everything and feeling like shit as a result My definition...

Are you kicking butt in your career but DON"T have a man???

I meet so many amazing women who are thriving in their career but are lacking love in their life... Does this sound like you? I must say when I have a lot of projects on the first things that takes a hit is my relationships with friends and then even sometimes my husband. I am so blessed to be married to the most patient, kind and loving husband who understands my gung ho attitude. In the first three to four  years of running Modern Day Hippie I really had my head down bum up. There was so much to do and I really need to stay focus on getting my business and all my new products off the ground. This year being...

Working Mum trying to stay balanced

Being an Entrepreneur and Mother of two life is not always "balanced".Balanced is a word I don't like to use too much as my view on balance is very different to some. When you are juggling a couple of businesses with a couple of children and keeping a marriage alive there is not always excess time to socialize with friends, go to exercise classes and cook exotic meals. My mindset for achieving my interpretation of balance is to prioritize your day. I prioritize based on what is going to bring me the most joy and allow me to live my why. To be honest my husband and friends have taken a backseat to my kids and businesses lately. I feel when I am...
